Liz finished the Colfax half marathon (Taken with picplz.)

I ran my first half marathon last Sunday (May 15th) at 6 in the morning. The weather was not ideal — it was rainy and in the upper 30s — but in the end it was better than running in the heat and sun.
I finished at 2:15:25 with a PPM of 10:20. My goal was a 10 min PPM so I was RELIEVED that this worked out. I was not sore afterward — a little stiff in the quads the next day but overall felt fine. Took Monday off and was back to running and biking on Tuesday!
I was incredibly nervous the night before and only ended up getting about 3 and a half hours of sleep. Of course my adrenaline was super high so the lack of sleep didn’t ruin the run at all. But the best part about finishing at my goal time was the fact that for my next half (probably in October) I’ll know I can do it and won’t be so stressed out.
If you’re running a half and want more info on how I trained (I used a Nike training schedule that ended up giving me too many run days and not enough cross training, that’s the only thing I would change), send us an ASK!
Next up: Colorado Bolder Boulder 10k 5/30; Loveland Lake to Lake Triathlon relay 6/25
