Not much to be done about this issue. As you run in the same city you can start to figure out routes which follow streets with longer greens and/or longer blocks, or stick to quiet neighborhoods where its easier to cross without the light. Or if you don’t want to wait, turn right or left and start running down another street, change your route up on the fly - maybe you will discover something new. You can use the breaks to time interval workouts, but for regular running on city streets you are just going to have to accept the breaks or turn instead of crossing. You can always use the breaks to shake out your muscles or stretch a little. If you see a red light coming up and would rather not stop you could also adjust your pace so it is green when you get there. (I guess there is the running in place at the light option too, but I think that looks silly. Probably more of a personal preference though.) Anyone else have thoughts?
